The Name of The Wind // Patrick Rothfuss

"Though I didn't know it at the time, I was looking for the name of the wind."

This is a very brief overview of my thoughts on this book because I've decided there's no point in rewriting exactly what I've already said on my YouTube channel here.

The synopsis.

The Name of The Wind is the first book in a fantasy trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss. The series centres around the main character Kvothe, a notorious wizard who has disappeared and is widely assumed to be dead. Kvothe is not dead, he has simply gone into hiding, and now he is going to share his story.

The recommendation.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Though I do understand that it is a divisive book in terms of whether people love it or hate it. The main character, Kvothe, is a character that can be grating to some people, and because the whole story centres around him there's really no getting around it if you don't like him as a character! Thankfully, I quite liked his characterisation, which is why I can say that I enjoyed the book. But if you're looking to read this book, consider yourself warned!

The aesthetic.

Read my review of Emma by Jane Austen.
